MAZDA Airbag and Seat Occupancy Fault Override

Warning: Do not place infants in a child seat in the front passenger seat because in the event of an accident the airbag will always deploy, and cannot be deactivated. This is a temporary solution; we always recommend replacing defective components with manufacturer-approved vehicle parts.

Instructions:

  1. Remove the key from the ignition.
  2. Locate the seat occupancy sensor plug and disconnect it. (Underneath the front passenger seat, at the rear.)
  3. Connect our emulator.
  4. Start the car.

In some cases, the airbag fault remains stored in the ECU and needs to be cleared with a diagnostic tool (this usually happens if you have driven for a long time with the fault light on).
