Elimination of Airbag and OPEL Seat Occupancy Fault
Warning: You cannot carry babies in an infant car seat in the front seat because, in the event of an accident, the airbag will always deploy; it cannot be disconnected. This is a temporary solution; we always recommend replacing defective components with manufacturer-approved vehicle parts.
Instructions:
- Remove the key from the ignition.
- Locate and unplug the seat occupancy sensor connector. (Underneath the front passenger seat, at the rear.)
It will have 3 wires with the colors: brown, red, white (on the side coming from the seat mat). - Disconnect the seat mat connector and remove the wires from the connector. To remove a wire, you must push the pins located in the small holes on the top of the connector (marked in the example photo below). You can use a small screwdriver or a knife to do that. First remove the red wire and insert the emulator's red wire in its place. Then follow the same procedure with the brown wires, and then with the white wires.

4. Start the car.
In a few cases, the airbag fault remains stored in the ECU and must be cleared with a diagnostic tool (this usually happens if you have driven for a long time with the fault light on).
