Exhaust Gas Cooler Regulator Diaphragm

Over time, due to high temperatures, the diaphragm dries out and breaks, causing the cooler regulator (vacuum valve) to stop working correctly, which affects fuel consumption and engine power. The manufacturer suggests replacing the entire radiator, even though only the vacuum regulator diaphragm fails.

The diaphragms are made of "Viton" material, resistant to high temperatures and oils.

It is not difficult to replace; taking our time, it takes less than 20 minutes. Steps to follow:

1. Remove the engine cover and unscrew the cooler regulator (vacuum valve). It is fixed with 2 screws.
2. Unclip the housing with a flathead screwdriver.
3. Unscrew the diaphragm with a 10 spanner.
4. Clean the housing of dirt and dust and replace the diaphragm.
5. Reassemble in reverse order.
